Details:
  1. Transparency agreement Model for Shield Lubricants Products: This is a Model where the Brand is of Shield Lubricants and the purchaser does a tie up of the Pricing in a way where he knows various components of the cost. The Purchaser does a tie up for a particular area for very long term basis e.g. 50 Years.
The Purchaser can do trial by opting for trading based on transparency model and then shift to transparency agreement model.
  1. Trading Based on Transparency Model : This is a model where the brand is of Shield Lubricants and the purchaser does a tie up of the Pricing in a way where he knows various components of the cost to a limited level ( depends upon tie up) . The company might have some defined areas available where they want to do trading. In this model Purchaser do not have any commitment of the area from the seller for a longer term. Both the parties settle a volume and a product which they want to trade and they define mutual terms related to area of operation and time frame of the monopoly.
Benefits a Purchaser can take out of the Transparency Models:
  1. Long term security: The efforts done by the purchaser on establishing a brand remains for a long term or very long term with the purchaser. This is most important benefit with these models and the same is legally challengeable.
  2. Understanding of the Increase and Decrease of Price and taking advantage of the base oil Price changes: The base oil component varies from 85% to 98% of the product cost. These days base oil changes are very frequent and the amount of change in Rs/ltr is high. So if we have an estimate of the changes then we can plan the purchases and take advantage by doing storage of extra base oil or reducing the inventory when base oil prices are decreasing.
  3. Increasing the Gross profit when the brand value is improving: As the brand value improves the margin can be improved based on the market segment we are doing and competition. So with the above two models we can increase our Gross Profit.
  4. In Automotive the GP starts in beginning from Rs 35/ltr and it can be increased to Rs 60/ltr as per the existing trend in the Lubricants market which is established by the competitor players.
  5. In Industrial market the GP in products excluding the Hydraulic oil and General Purpose machinery oil GP starts in beginning from Rs 20-25/ltr and it can be increased to Rs 40/ltr as per the existing trend in the Lubricants market which is established by the competitor players.
